To Make Love To The Walls
Petra Mrzyk was born in 1973 in Nuremberg, Germany. Jean-François Moriceau was born in 1974 in Saint-Nazaire, France. The pair, who both currently live in France, met while attending art school in the mid 1990s. Like many contemporary French artists, they began to blur artistic boundaries between mass culture and traditional techniques. 4 handed virtuoso draftsman, showing images inspired by unconscious and pop culture on different formats and supports, Mrzyk and Moriceau are proposing a work close to the surrealist spirit with a warped image of our time and of the drawing practice itself.
Their work has being exhibited internationally at the Los Angeles County Museum of Arts, Musée d Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, PS1 New York, Caixa Forum Barcelona among others. They live and work in Chatillon/Indre and are represented by Air de Paris Gallery.
